I am an international educator.
Bio
For over a decade, I have worked in the field of international education. From study abroad, to international partnerships, to international student services, and my career as a practitioner-academic in the field of internationalization of higher education has been inspired by a wide array of professional and personal experiences. I am a passionate advocate for equitable and inclusive international learning opportunities for all.
Education
My educational background is interdisciplinary in nature. My undergraduate degree was marked with a double major and an academic exchange opportunity. My graduate degree was one of the first interdisplinary Master's degree offered in English in Sweden, with an internship and international field school embedded. My doctoral degree is based in educational theory and focused on leadership in post-secondary contexts, a practitioner based program. I am confident and excited by interdisciplinary opportunities.
Employment
I have professional experience working in government and several types of post-secondary institutions in BC higher education. I have worked for the BC crown corporation for international education, a research university, a teaching university, and a community college. This gives me a unique perspective on approaches to teaching and learning in the BC higher education context.
